About Clare Milford Haven
Clare Milford Haven is a Trustee and co–Founder of James’ Place, set up in
memory of her eldest son James, who died, aged 21, in December 2006. James’
Place, Liverpool was opened by HRH The Duke of Cambridge in June 2018. It is
the first centre of its kind in the UK, offering help and support to men who are
experiencing a suicidal crisis, in an environment that has been designed to feel
masculine, warm and welcoming. A second centre will be opening in the City of
London towards the end of 2021.
Clare is also a member of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy Advisory
Group run by the Department of Health and Founder and Co Chair of TASC (The
Alliance of Suicide Prevention Charities: www.tasc-uk.org)
Clare lives on a farm in Hampshire with her husband George and their four
children. Previously a freelance writer, including a hectic eight year stint as
Social Editor of Tatler, Clare is also a global Brand Ambassador for Jaeger-
LeCoultre watches. She is a keen and competitive polo player and has
represented England internationally three times – in Mexico, Chile and Austria.
